Newest Project!

So, I was getting really antsy from lack of craft projects so I decided today to venture out to the fine thrift store that is D.I. and see what I could find! Well I found this cute little stool seat for only $ 7 and decided that it would be really fun! It actually cost me 50 cents more to get half yard of the upholstering fabric, but anywho! Here are a few before and afters. Unfortunately one of them is sideways and until I go home in a few weeks I can't actually staple the fabric tight to the seat so it is only folded under, but you'll get the idea! And the color isn't great on these, but the fabric is a red and cream stripe! Love it!

A Quickie!!!

So, I was looking at my friend Jen's blog and she had a link to this hilarious page about random thoughts of 25-35 year olds. It's so funny, I was actually laughing out loud!

Pictures from the other day!

So, when I posted last week I couldn't get my pictures to come up so let me try again!
So here are the crazy roommates (minus Natasha-she's third semester nursing, so she's gone a lot!) eating some of our awesome pizza from Pizza Hut! Tara, Megan, Maddie, and Dana!

So I got bored last week from lack of crafting and decided to make this. It's not anything really great, but I have had this plain white sweater for a while and wanted to jazz it up just a bit. So, I saw this easy pattern to make a flower out of a men's dress shirt, so I decided that this would look good with my sweater. Well, being the poor college student that I am I decided that I didn't have the money for a dress shirt, so I settled for a $2 pair of men's boxers! It worked and now I really like my sweater!
Sorry Fay, but I had to throw this one in there! This is Fay and I stirring up trouble on my last night on Labor and Delivery. What can I say? When the Labor gods bless you with no patients you have to find a way to stay awake at 3:00 in the morning! BTW, thanks again girls for that party! I have already used quite a few of my 'survival supplies'. Oh, and another fun fact, my teacher says that this week we will practice venipunctures on the fake arms! Thanks to Sadie I can go into this feeling a little more confident! At least the fake arm won't come out looking all swollen and bruised, right Sadie?!

Update (how creative)

So, week one of classes is down and I am still alive. It actually isn't bad at all. I have to get used to being in student mode again, and also get my sleeping habits under control! Sometimes I revert back to my night shift schedule! So, still no word back from Peds. I had my last interview with them last Thursday and thought it went well. I got major bonus points for knowing how to use both Meditech and CPN. They were stoked that I know it, I however try to forget. :( NURR 101 is going well. Every member of my graduating class has to sign up for a group called the Idaho Student Nurse Association and then they choose two students to be representatives. Well, I am one of the two which means way more meetings and things for me, but it also means I get a chance to go to Orlando, FL next spring!

So here at CSI the first week of classes is called Welcome Week and they have all sorts of activities. Wednesday night my friend Johnny invited us to the movie in the quad. It was Star Trek which I actually hadn't seen yet and I totally liked it. Okay so good company and cute boys in the movie makes it so worth it! We also had roommate night on Tuesday and then Institute party on Friday. Thursday night we ordered pizza and had the craziest time just goofing around. My roommate Maddie is hilarious and she sometimes makes Fay look calm! Just kidding Fay! Well, things are going good here, just tons of homework! I'll try to keep this thing updated better. One more month and I start getting to do assessments on something other than my SIM!

Well, I can't get any of my pictures to load right now, so I'll try again tomorrow!

Pics of the House!

So, I couldn't get pictures to work the other night when I was updating my blog. After having many people request them I am trying again so we'll see! Here they are.....

I love my apartment. It has a front door with a doorbell and a back door just around the corner from my room that leads to the parking lot. Also, my room has a lock on the door for which I have the key! It's so awesome! Well, there is more to come as I buy my books and put up pictures of those and my lab kit! Peace out! (that one was for you Sadie!)

The Big Move!

So, I am officially in Twin Falls, Idaho now. I moved yesterday morning with a car full of all of my belongings and a few of Dana's. I drove straight to the hospital and had an interview there with their HR department. They told me that while I was very qualified for Peds or OB they only had openings on Medical floor. Sad news :( During the interview though the nurse manager from Peds called down and after hearing my qualifications she said she wanted to interview me later that day! Yay!!! In between interviews I signed my lease and got some lunch then moved on to my next interview. I think it went really well! Then I came home and started moving into my room. My roommates are great!

In with the new!

So for those of you who don't really know much about Twin Falls I thought I'd drop down some pictures.

This is Perrine Bridge. When you get off the freeway in Twin Falls you cross over this bridge to get into the city.

This is Shoshone Falls. Isn't it so pretty?!!! This is about 3-4 miles from my apartment complex!

So, I am almost done packing up all of my junk to take to school with me. I am down to a few pairs of scrubs, three outfits, and my bathroom stuff. Wow! So, here are a few pictures of my new complex. It's pretty nice.

Movin' On Up!

So I now have an official moving day!..... August 18th I move to Twin Falls to finish my last four semesters of college! Woohoo!!! I am so excited that it's finally happening. I just wish I had been smarter and braver a few years ago so I could have finished earlier, but then again...... I wouldn't have all of the wonderful knowledge and experience that I have now!

I am going to miss my wonderful friends that I have made at good ol' MMH and those cute little babies, okay maybe not the babies so much!

Some More Projects

I have been working on some more projects as of late. The first one may look a little odd by itself, but when you see the whole picture it makes sense.

It's a recipe book stand. It's so nice in the kitchen especially with the non-ringed books. The rest are photos of picture frames. I am thinking of selling all of my projects both individually and possibly on Etsy. Give me some feedback on whether you think it would work. Would you buy these things for a fair price?

It's been a while............

Well, most of you know but I officially start back to school on August 24th. I am very excited to get back to the books actually and definitely ready for graduation. I am so ready to get into my classes and clinicals! Wish me luck!

Pay It Forward!

I saw this on a friend's blog and I'm really excited about doing this.

Here is what you do...
the first 3 people to leave a comment on this post will receive, at some point during the year, a handmade gift from me! What it will be and when it will arrive is a total surprise! The catch is that you must participate as well. Before you leave your comment, type up a pay it forward post on your blog to keep the fun going. Then come back and let me know you are going to play! Then sit back and anticipate the arrival of your gift! (Please leave your e-mail address in your post to me!)

Projects Under Construction

So when my friends started introducing me to the blog world I thought, 'That sounds like lots of fun, but I'm not married and don't have kids so what would I blog about?' Their answer, blog about my latest craft projects. So here are some that I have recently completed. If anything interests you let me know and I will let you know how to duplicate it!

Welcome to the Frenzy!

So I have decided to give into peer pressure and try out the new craze of blogging. I love looking at the cute little posts on my friends' blogs so I decided it's only fair if I give it a shot. I'm not promising anything too exciting, but here goes!!! While I'm thinking about it....thanks to Heidi and Amanda for getting me going. I guess I'll just use this as a spot to announce the rare exciting news in my life and to show off some fun projects I'm working on! If you have any ideas on what I should post then let me know!
