Half of Me!

So I feel like I am finally in a good enough place that I can speak openly about something that has been a bit of an issue for me these last few years.  My weight.  I have always been athletic and played sports all through high school and even a bit of intramurals in college.  Unfortunately due to some other things going on in life I went through a rough patch and gained way more than my 'freshman 15'.  It was more like my freshman 75.  Sadly when I started nursing school I was well over 200 pounds and not feeling super confident about the way I looked.  Well, thanks to some help from my crazy school schedule, having fun with friends, eating better, and just running around enjoying life I have lost a significant amount of weight.  I am happy to report that I am back under 200 pounds and enjoying life a whole lot more now!

A little bit of catch up!

Wowza!  It has been almost a whole year since the last time I sat down and wrote a post for this blog!  Not that they were anything super exciting before, but here goes!  So, what have I been up to in the last year?  Well, fulfilling some dreams and thinking up some new ones of course.  When last we spoke I was living on my own with my little bro.  So, last summer I took the NCLEX, which if you remember is the big nasty test that you have to pass in order to be a legit nurse.  I may have procrastinated studying for it a lot bit, but don't worry guys.... I PASSED!    That's right.  I'm an RN.  I celebrated my success by turning my energy into applying for jobs.  Don't let me fool you tho.  The day before the test I relaxed in Boise with some retail therapy, my first full body massage, a movie with my bud Gary, and a nice room in downtown Boise.  (www.hotel43.com/)  I also went home for the 4th of July and enjoyed my favorite holiday with my favorite peoples!  During this visit I found out I had an interview with my old unit at St. Luke's Magic Valley.  After round two of the interview process and a whole lot of prayers I found out I got the job and was the new Pediatric Nurse in the pediatric floor.  Sweet!  August was a bittersweet month.  I started it with my first few shifts, a visit from Dana, a sad goodbye to Tara, moving in with Tara H. and Terica, and buying a new car!  I decided instead of purchasing a used car I would just bite the bullet and bought a brand new 2012 Kia Forte SX.  I love my amazing car.  Moving to a new apartment meant leaving behind my ward and my calling, but I soon found that I was extremely happy with my new roommates in our cute apartment!  I have made some new friends this year and through it I have had some crazy adventures.  Trips to Boise, Salt Lake, games until early morning hours, hot tub runs, crying and venting sessions in the temple parking lot with Alyssa, silly boys, silly stories, and a whole lot of laughs.  I have gotten a lot more confident in my job and know that even tho night shift is slowly and painfully killing me I love what I do and the people I get to take care of.  So, that gets us caught up to about New Years.  Stay tuned to find out what other bits of trouble I have managed to stir up!  Haha!
